Flea circus
The flea seems to be a primitive creature. However it is known from ancient times that it has been easily tamed! Many of medival jail prisoners made their time different taming fleas (which they enough) and training them to do very complicated acrobatic feats. Monarch and their courts had fun watching tamed fleas as well. Swedish queen Christiana, for example, demonstrated simulation battles against tamed soldier-fleas, shootimng them from a small toy cannon as if they were enemy soldiers. By the way that cannon is still preserved in Sockholm Arsenal. And what about flea circuses? Even nowadays this fun has not forgotten completely. Of course it is not easy to find a flea that live on man. Those, living on dogs, are not suitable for taming. In Western Europe the former are very expensive and the managers for flea circuses, from time to time, put ads to newspapers like this: The (number) of human fleas seeking. The price- on agreement |

In the very begining of the 20th century a Reimund Otava and his flea cicus were very popular. His performances at fairs and hotels, before kings and dictators all over the world always had a great success. The actors in Reimond`s circus were experienced in doing lots of things. Some of them, put to harness made of the finest golden strings, acted as horses moving a golden cab. Other actors could juggle with tiny balls made of elder`s core and they trew those balls up according to their Master`s commands. Dancers, wearing colourful scirts made of tin foil, to music, danced and jumped. They were trained to do a lot of different things to do. My fleas are allowed to suck my blood out of my hands and legstold Rheimun Otava, usually once a day; but when they work, they are allowed to eat twice. Their meal lasts from two minutes to a quarter of hour till each flea finishes. Now let us go to Australia at the world championship on the races of cockroaches. That fun was invented in Russia in the begining of the previous century and is still quite popular. Their organizers make good money. A price of one cokcroach-the-runner is about 400$.
